20-22 August 2018: 10th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education

We presented our project at the 10th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education from 20th — 22nd August 2018 at Trinity College in Dublin.
Anita Thaler (IFZ, Austria) presented a paper about "Promoting structural change in academia with a Responsible Research and Innovation approach" and talked especially about the concept of transfer agents and co-constructing gender knowledge with stakeholders as an RRI-approach of CHANGE. Furthermore Jennifer Dahmen-Adkins and Andrea Wolffram (RWTH, Germany) gave a presentation on the Invisible control of careers through micro processes in science organisations. The example of gendered networking patterns in STEM, and Sara Diogo and Teresa Carvalho (UAVR, Portugal) talked about Gender (in)equality in lifelong learning: a comparative study between Portuguese and Finnish PhD graduates' paths.

The conference has brought together hundreds of gender equality practitioners, researchers and administrators from Europe and beyond. Hence, it was a great forum to discuss and exchange information and experiences on the challenges related to gender (in(equality) in international academia and research institutions. Furthermore, several sessions were dedicated to the topic of structural change, and we could meet colleagues from other ‘sister projects' and other people interested in implementing gender equality plans in academic and research organisations.

The next Gender Equality in Higher Education conference will be held in Madrid in 2020, we will definitely be there!
